Ms. Barber joined Proeger & Associates, Inc. in 2021. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 1998 and a Diploma in Nursing from Parkview–Methodist School of Nursing in 1990. In 2024, she obtained her Care Management Certification through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers.
Ms. Barber brings more than 35 years of nursing experience to her role, including a decade in critical care nursing followed by 20 years as an Associate Professor of Nursing. During her academic career, she educated RN students in Sarasota and Manatee counties as well as across the United States for an online university. Her teaching specialties included chronic illness management, functional health assessment, mental health, memory care, and end-of-life care.
In addition to her academic background, Ms. Barber has experience navigating acute care, transitional care, and extended care facilities within the community, allowing her to effectively support clients across the full continuum of care.
Ms. Barber is a member of the national Aging Life Care Association® and serves on the Finance Committee for the Florida Chapter. She is also an active member of the Suncoast Aging Network, where she serves as a board member.
